Day 159!

It's been a while since my last update, mostly due to a job switch and the insanity of year-end procedures, but now I have plenty of time to write. Well, that plus the fact that I woke up from a nightmare at 5AM and can't seem to convince my body to go back to sleep.

The progress on the house has been whizzing along until today. Today things come to a grinding halt for an unknown period of time. But, please feel free to view our progress up until this point through this facebook photo album:

Almost all of the demo is done and the framing for all the walls/doors has been finished. The terrible asbestos siding is gone and in its place lies the beautiful, original siding of the house. We have chosen to pain the house a dark olive green to match the original color.

I will provide more updates when construction resumes, but things are on hold for now due to some unforseen events that have taken place recently.

Day 1!

Now that we have the keys to the house, it is time to start our blog! We will be taking pictures of our (soon-to-be) gorgeous crafstman bungalow and posting them within the next few days. This blog will be an online diary of our journey into the crazy world of victorian house restoration. I have to admit I am excited and just a little bit scared of what we will find underneath the current flooring and walls, but it is going to be an adventure for sure! Our awesome contractor, George Nutting, is going over to the house today to get a general idea of the condition and what we would like to do with the house. Check back for updates and some awesome/strange pictures! (Hint: a mermaid may be involved.)

Also, I want to give a special shout out to our AMAZING realtor Fred Raia from Realty World-Relocation Express. You can find his homes.com profile here along with some great endorsements from happy clients: Fred Raia Homes.com Profile
